Volunteer - Volunteer Training
We inform volunteers of any disability a client has which limits their physical or mental functions. Moreover, we train our volunteers to work effectively with disabled people. Our training sessions include the following:
- Communicating Effectively with Seniors - Sunrise assisted Living
- Providing Physical Help to Seniors - DeKalb medical Centers Rehab Unit
- Helping Alzheimer's Patients - Visiting Nurses' Association
- Assisting Visually-Impaired Persons - Center for the Visually-Impaired
Each volunteer receives a training manual, which is fundamental to their understanding of how the program works and what they are required to do. Volunteers are required to maintain their own automobile insurance in compliance with the laws of the State of Georgia. We provide excess automobile liability insurance for all of our volunteers. This covers any damage to a client's person or property. To date, there have been no automobile accidents.
