Purpose - Intro

I CARE stands for Interfaith Companion And Ride Express.  We are a small non-profit organization located in Decatur, Georgia.  We began offering our services in March of 1998 and obtained tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status in January of 1999.

Our mission is "To provide senior citizens of DeKalb County with transportation and companionship to medial appointments and other necessary excursions.
I CARE is an interfaith collective effort which coordinates volunteer driver/companions with care receivers.  I CARE provides a caring service with awareness of sensitivity to an individual's feelings, treating the person with respect, thereby enhancing and promoting the quality of life, independence, and dignity of those served."

Volunteers frequently are retired peope who wish to "give back" to the community.  Some volunteers are also employed persons who can arrange their time to drive our clients.  All volunteers provide their own automobiles and gasoline, and have personal qualities that enable them to fulfill I CARE's mission.

Clients may be of either gender, and of any race or ethnic background.  They must live in Dekalb County, Georgia and must have a need for assistance.
