| Clients - Process I CARE registers clients over the telephone or the internet. We get the following information:
We find out if the client needs physical help, and if the driver/companion needs to wait in the doctor's office or can pick up the client after the appointment is over. We emphasize that this is a requested service, not a service on demand, and that there may be times when we cannot provide a ride because of the unavailability of a volunteer. Requests for rides should be made at least five working days in advance of the appointment to give us time to find an available volunteer. While the service is free, clients are asked to pay any parking fees. We are also grateful for any donations from clients.
